The hidden Gem in Eldritch Moon

I am talking about this card: People are misled by its type and the BBB Madness cost. Madness is an option, we aren't forced to cast it with Madness. Also, it's not a card only for vampire decks. Any deck using small creatures and self-sacrificing creatures to trade off with the opponent's better creatures can include Voldaren Parish. The first one I found is Black-Green Aristocrats. With Loam Dryad and Cryptolith Rite, it's not hard to cast Parish straightly before turn 5. If we get it into the battle in turn 3, probably we can sacrifice our Blisterpod, Elvish Visionary or Catacomb Sifter for opponent's forces. The list: 4 Blisterpod 4 Loam Dryad 4 Duskwatch Recruiter 3 Elvish Visionary 4  Zulaport Cutthroat 4 Catacomb Sifter 4 Nantuko Husk 3  Voldaren Parish 4 Cryptolith Rite 4      Collected Company 4 Forest 4 Hissing Quagmire 4 Llanowar Wastes 3 Swamp 3 Westvale Abbey 4 Yavimaya Coast I think

Eldritch Moon Standard: Burn

I Have tried to build a UR burn deck with Avaricious Dragon and Geralf's Masterpiece, but it's too slow against any decks. The problem is mainly on mana cost, because it's not a control deck, it doesn't have mass removals and finishers. Eldritch Moon brings  Bedlam Reveler and Nahiri's Wrath. Wrath is one of the few spells that can deal more than 3 damages. Our deck will also include Advanced Stitchwing, Jace and other burns spells.   The list: 10 Creatures: Jace, Vryn's Prodigy 4 / Stormchaser Mage 4 Bedlam Reveler 4 Advanced Stitchwing 2/Chandra, Fire of Kaladesh 2 22 Burns: Nahiri's Wrath 4 Fiery Impulse 4 Fiery Temper 4 Incendiary Flow 4 Exquisite Firecraft 4 Geistblast 2 4 Draws: Take Inventory 4 22 Lands: Shivan Reef 4 Wandering Fumarole 4 Islands 7 Mountain 7 Maybe, UR burn will be the best burn deck after RDW retreated from Standard?

Eldritch Moon Standard UB Control

When Wizards are pushing creatures, I believe in Liliana. The Deck: Creatures: Emrakul, the Promised End 1 Dragonlord Silumgar 1 Jace, Vryn's Prodigy 2 Draws: Press for Answers 4 Read the Bones 3 Counters: Scatter to the Winds 3 Removals: Liliana, the Last Hope 4 Ultimate Price 4 Languish 4 Ruinous Path 3 To the Slaughter 2 Others: From Under the Floorboards 1 Welcome to the Fold 1 Startled Awake 1 Lands: Geier Reach Sanitarium 2 Sunken Hollow 4 Choked Estuary 4 Island 8 Swamp 8 A control deck light in creatures may not be the best place for Liliana, but she can stabilise small creatures til you cast Languish in early stage. Ideal play vs aggros: Turn 2: Ultimate Price on any 2 drops or three drops with 3 attack(Lambholt Pacifist, Tireless Tracker, Eldrazi Displacer) Turn 3: Liliana's -2/-1 on Thraben Inspector/Duskwatch Recruiter/Thalia's Lieutenant/Sylvan Advocate. Turn 4: Ruinous Path

Turn Aside protects Sphinx's Tutelage from World Breaker. I 've tested twice today. It's impossible for a mill deck without removals to win. So I tuned it into a Burn + Mill. I gave up Harness the Storm, added Geistblast. I also removed Chandra. Eldritch Moon Review: UB control and UR control

The new standard presents an old theme: Creatures vs Removals. Removals: Without four mana white mass removals, I think UW Control is hard. There can be a control very likely in UB. Though in sorcery, they provide card advantage. Fortune's Favor(Fact of Fiction) Curious Honuculus (Nightscape Familiar) Drag Under(Repulse) Unsubstantiate(Memory Lapse) Take Inventory(Accumulated Knowledge) Crush of Tentacles(Upheaval) It seems they are reprinting into sorceries the whole Psychatog deck from the 2000's without Psychatog. I remember before Psychatog deck became mainstream, there was a Nether Spirit deck. The deck used a 2/2 Nether Spirit that returns back to the battlefield every upkeep to win, yes, it's that boring. Never heard of it, young guys? Today we can't expect a 2/2 to attack for 10 times, neither can we wait for a Psychatog functional reprint. I think maybe the outcome of printing all the blue sorceries is a UB control deck with 1-2 finisher or

Eldritch Moon Preview: UX control

Unless I misread Escalate, this is a perfect card for control deck. Now we have an Unsummon with another option. Now we have a good mana dork. Enabling turn 3 Languish or turn 5 Descend upon the Sinful, maybe UB or UW control will return to the mainstream. The problematic "uncounterable" Ulamog exiling effect is solved. It seems to me that Esper or UB or UW will earn a place in the new standard. 10 Creatures 4 Jace, Vryn's Prodigy  / 4 Curious Homunculus 4 Dragonlord Ojutai 2 Dragonlord Silumgar 12 Removals 4 Languish 3 Ruinous Path 2 Foul-Tongue Invocation 2 Anguished Unmaking 1 Silumgar's Command 11 counters  4 Clash of Wills 4 Silumgar's Scorn 2 Summary Dismissal 1 Ojutai's Command 4 Planeswalkers 2 Jace, Unraveler of Secrets 2 Liliana, the Last Hope The missing link is a good card draw spell. Current list uses Read the Bone. I think there will be a better draw spell in the new set. Let's wait.
