Buying Magic Origins

To see my review, you may go to this article . Since I don't feel well, let's go right to the cards I like to buy in the next few weeks. 1. Woodland Bellower Opposite to most reviewers on the web , I give this card positive rating. Six mana for 6/5 and a smaller green creature is not bad. We should not limit its potential to "searching for a Deathmist" or "searching for another green 3/3" etc. As we don't exactly know what green cards will be in the upcoming sets, this card have some unpredictable potential after rotation. 2.  Exquisite Firecraft People comparing it to Char, Lightning Bolt, Flame Javelin won't agree my point: this is the best red burn in the future Standard. All previous core sets recently signified the power level of the next standard. Stop complaining and accept this card as a so-so but USABLE card. 3. Starfield of Nyx The only cards ever in Modern that animates enchantments is worthy for us to keep a close eye on i...

GWx Starfield of Nyx Deck

People say Magic Origins is a down-graded set. To me, It feels more like Ice Age then Khans in the variety of card functions and types. Of course, Ice Age was a fun deck, weakness never harms the entertaining level of cards. Starfield of Nyx  is an interesting one. It goes perfectly into enchantment decks evolved during late Theros Standard. Win conditions: 1. Bring Chromanticore into play from grave. 2. Attack with animated enchatments for winning. 3. Bring Whip of Erebos into play and reanimate Hornet Queen. 4. Bring Sigil of the Empty Throne into play 5. Assault Formation + high toughness creatures Removals: End Hostility Banishing Light     Doomwake Giant Defense: Nyx-Fleece Ram Courser of Kruphix Card Advantages: Ephara, God of the Polis Commune with the Gods Satyr Wayfinder Eidolon of Blossoms Gather the Pack Combos: Starfield of Nyx  + everything /  Font of Vigor Ephara, God...

What is Magic Origins about?

If I am right, Magic Origins is a collection of "redesigned" old cards in MTG history. Evidence so far supports the prediction. We have: Dark Petition reminiscing Demonic Tutor, Day's Undoing replacing Timetwister, Honored Hierarch taking after Noble Hierarch. I believe more cards from Power Nine and old sets will appear in Standard but with lowered power level. Let's make some wild guess before the spoiler's out: 1. All ten Shock lands return ( Dual lands ) update: painlands, not shocklands 2. There are remakes for Armageddon, Nevinyrral's Disk and Wrath of God update: they remade Cataclysm. 3. Moxes will appear with 1 mana cost and "enter the battlefield tapped" 4. Something close to Force of Will is in the set

Magic Origins preview

1. Avarcious Dragon With four mana 4/4 flying - the new standard for usable dragons - Avaricious Dragon give you one more card per turn but force you to discard you hand at the end of turn. It's actually a walking  Grafted Skullcap. What is Grafted Skullcap? you've never heard of it? Right, that's because it's never been used in serious decks since it first appeared in Urza's Saga set 17 years ago. I don't think this dragon will not be more active than Thunderbreak Regent in competitive decks after rotation. Look at the visage of the guy wearing it. Still, I made a deck around it: GR reanimates Creatures: 4 Deathmist Raptor 4 Den Protector 4 Flamewake Phoenix 4 Ashcloud Phoenix 4 Avaricious Dragon  Others: whatever you want (I am not quite in the mode right now) Some lands 2. Starfield of Nyx At the beginning of your upkeep, you may return target enchantment card from your  graveyard to the battlefield. As long as you contr...

Magic Origins, Modern Master 2015 and the current Standard sets

The first 72   Magic Origins  cards, mostly at limited level, have been reveled. It makes me feel Magic Origins is weaker than Magic 2015. Getting weaker sets doesn't mean lower profit chance; Reversely, prices can be very high for a few good cards in such sets. Modern Master 2015 is so good as Vintage Masters but they have extended the drafting period. That disturbed my plan. I sold all Tarmogoyf at around 1 tix loss on each. If it unfortunately follows the price movement of Vintage Masters, no one should touch it at all.  Let me tell you the story of Vintage Masters:  Last year, Vintage Masters first appeared in MTGO. It was the first time for online players to use Power 9 (Moxes, Black Lotus, Time Walk etc) in games. People had very high expectation on the set and they were not disappointed by the cards. At the early stage of the set's release, a player can buy packs from MTGO store and get a decent profit by selling the cards opened. A friend prov...

UG Bounce Aggro

Ugh, guess someone 's done the deck before, but it doesn't stop me from making another. The main combo is Profaner of the Dead plus high toughness creatures - Dragon's Eye Savants, Monastery Flocks and Jeskai Barricade- to wipe out opponent's side every time Profaner resolves. Securing our victory, our second plan is Assault Formation on the walls mentioned above. As we have many Morph walls, Morph becomes the secondary theme for our deck. Secret Plans, Obscuring Æther and Trail of Mystery, maybe? How good is Mastery of the Unseen in our deck? Also, Morphies are colorless, I think we can give a shot to Ghostfire Blade. What's more, I 'd like to add Rally the Ancestors against Crux and End Hostility. It 'll make a good deck, right? Tell me how it far goes.
